Vacation Mode June 2025

I hope you are up to some great things this Summer (and staying cool).

Taking a little break

If you have worked with me in clinic, there is a very good chance we talk about mixing a little rest in- teaching your body safety, and knowing that taking a break should come before exhaustion.

As many of you know, because I am also human- I think that is a great way to live but not always the way I choose.

I spend much of my free time working on business stuff, taking classes, or reading business books. I keep a very close eye on my emails, check my phone too much, feel urgency the moment I see a notification, etc (if you’re not convinced you can ask my husband).

You would think that with all the chatting I do about how important it is to take care of you, I would be conditioned to do the same in taking care of me. But I often am honestly falling out of the habit or failing completely of having the good habits to start.

This Summer has offered me some good opportunities to put my money where my mouth is. I will be taking some serious time away (in spurts) to places where I do not have good signal, most of the time with my kids, who are also quite close ***very clingy*** to me and often hard to just be with. I find it extremely challenging (please no judging) to just BE with them, they don’t find life nearly as stressful or urgent as I do. And sometimes they just PLAY. My brain can hardly comprehend doing one thing at a time.

But I do know in my little racing heart that my entire soul could use some serious downtime.

I will be leaving my Resilient Root phone behind during these times. I assure you if you text me I will get back to you.

And I hope you are able to make space for some down time in your life as well.

Burn Out Self Care March 2026
