Michigan Summers June 2024

Hope you are heading into June ready for a Nice Michigan Summer.

Summer around my house can look like a lot of water games and BBQs with our next door neighbors, late night sitting by the camp fire listening to Dave Matthews Band, and beers on the driveway as the sun sets with friends.

Pain and pelvic floor symptoms can have us really hunkering down to find a way out. We try to find the right things we can do and the right thing someone else can do for us.

Sometimes we can become so bogged down with doing the all the right things-it’s hard to remember our bodies are communicating with us, not punishing us.

My job is to help you break that cycle and teach you how to really listen to your body. Let’s figure it out, together. Let’s simplify.

What is it that your body is asking for in this very moment?

Some Good Beginnings

Try to focus with the curiosity of a 6 year old for one minute:

  • On branches in the trees

  • The birds chirping

  • Your feet (are they touching the ground, are they resting, can your toes wiggle?)

  • Focus on your breath

Get outside

  • Look up to the sky

    • Spend some time noticing how the clouds are moving, how it will feel to grab one…

  • Go for a walk- maybe leave your watch and phone- pretend its 1993- wear a flannel if you want

Who gives you a gold star if you get your 10,000 steps in?
