Being a Little Unfine May 2025
Hey!
I am late in getting my little newsletter out. I committed to sending it out, but I am also finding- how do I say it- sometimes find myself a little scattered and not doing quite so well. At the end of April life was just coming at me quite fast.
Last week, I met with some fellow female business owners in an event and the theme was: at least in the beginning- I got called to pick up my four year old who punctured his lip at school: “What stories do we hear or tell about ourselves?” (…Is it holding you back?)
I can think of one I am constantly faced with: “I am fine.”
Oh I am doing just fine seeing three patients an hour. I am just fine figuring out this nursing a newborn in front of lactation online during covid. Oh my foot is hurting to walk? I am fine to keep building my back squat. Oh leaving my job to start a new business- everything is just fine 😉
My current (un)fine is some grief/anxiety/ADHD(?) is catching up with me... so I am actually in fact not all that fine. (But I am MOST certainly on the right track).
I think about all the times I said these stories and I ended up missing out on some really good help and some really important connection.
This time I am not just saying I am fine and pressing on, I am actually doing a ridiculous amount of self care and not in an indulgent way. I am actually working on finding the right providers, spending time with my friends, setting the right boundaries. Etc.
So in short I wasn’t quite ready to send my email on May 1- I was probably getting a massage or something.
Pessary Fittings
I am adding Pessary Fittings to my schedule. If you are seeing me for prolapse or I am recommending that as a next step, let’s chat about it.
The pessary fittings will be a little longer, plan for 90 minutes. The price will be $350 for the fitting/session (in office).
We will also meet at a regular basis- 1 year to assure fit. You will also have to have a medical provider on your file that you are following up at least once a year. There is a low risk, but pessaries do need a little extra care.
I will not fit for pessary unless you are an active patient, this assures that you will have the best possible outcomes. And that communication about management is continuous.
